you walked into a cemetery and all the background
was black and white and the statues and headstones were in color.
Would you be frightened?
Would you feel peace?
Would the dead feel more alive to you?
Would you feel the parents pain more for Little Susie and Little Alice or Louie or Mary?
How would you feel?
Love this post. Not sure how I would react walking in and seeing the color of the stones with everything else black and white. I suppose it would be surreal, yet fitting. I love how you embellished the stones to create the vividness of each. Lovely words that make one think!
ReplyDeleteI love how you colorized the headstones we found during our walk/ride through the Mt. Auburn Cemetery. That was a really creative approach to our inspiration day. I must admit that the Mardi Gras effect of the colored stones made me feel a bit wary; kind of like the way clowns do at a circus. They have these colorful costumes and painted on smiles but all I can picture is evil beneath. It may put the dearly departed at ease but it kind of made me feel like I was in Alice in Wonderland's upside down world. Could be just me....I think that movie "IT" still has me a bit freaked out.
